The Witch | Basketball Game for Kids & Parents

Basketball is more than a sport – it is a space for play, connection, and skill development.

This is The Witch, adapted for 2 players, designed for use with the Basketball Witch -  Shooting Spot Marker and a basketball.

The game builds reaction speed, shooting accuracy, focus under pressure, and competitive intensity in a fast one-on-one format.

Fast. Intense. One-on-one.

The Witch (2 Players) is a high-speed elimination game where every second matters. The “beat you to the shot” rule creates constant pressure – the round can end instantly.

Everything happens quickly: shot, reaction, movement, elimination, win. The winner controls the next round by choosing the shooting spot.

How to Play (2 Players)

Players: 2
Equipment: 1x Shooting Spot, two basketballs, 1x basketball hoop

Setup

  1. Place the Shooting Spot anywhere on the court or backyard.
  2. Decide the shooting order (Player 1 starts).
  3. Both players are ready with their own ball.

Game Flow

1. First shot
Player 1 shoots from the Shooting Spot.

  • If they score, play immediately switches to Player 2.
  • If they miss, they must quickly chase the ball and attempt a second shot from play.

2. Time pressure rule
Player 2 can shoot immediately after Player 1’s first shot.

  • If Player 2 scores before Player 1 scores their second shot, Player 1 is eliminated.

3. Continuation
If Player 1 scores their second shot in time, the duel continues with roles switching.

Elimination

A player loses the round if:

  • the opponent scores before they complete their second shot,
  • they miss the backboard, rim, and net on the first shot.

  • shoots last in the next round (tactical advantage).
