The Shooting King | Basketball Game for Kids & Parents

Basketball is more than a sport – it is a space where movement, competition, and confidence come together.

The Shooting King is a game of control under pressure. Each player must match or beat the previous result, turning every turn into a direct challenge.

Built around the Basketball Witch – Shooting Spot Marker and a basketball, the game pushes precision, consistency, and mental focus.

Players don’t just shoot – they react under pressure and try to outperform the player before them.

The rules are simple, but the experience is intense. No easy rounds. No resets. Just continuous progression where every shot counts.

How to Play The Shooting King

Number of players: at least 2 (more possible)
Equipment: 1x Shooting Spot, 1x basketball, 1x hoop

Setup

  1. Place one Shooting Spot anywhere on the court or backyard.
  2. Players form a single shooting line.
  3. The first player sets the position and starts the round.

Game Flow

  1. The player takes two shots:
    • Shot 1: from the Shooting Spot position.
    • Shot 2: from the point where the player first touches the ball after it rebounds off the backboard, rim, or net, with up to three (3) steps allowed.
  2. The next player must match or outperform the result:
    • 2/2 made ⟶ must make both
    • 1st made ⟶ must make at least the first
    • 2nd made ⟶ must make at least the second

Special rule: If only the second shot was made, the next player stays in the game even if they make the first shot and miss the second.

Progression

Players who meet or beat the target continue and rotate to the end of the line. The level stays high throughout the game.

Elimination

A player is out if:

  • they fail to match the required result,
  • they miss backboard, rim and net on the first shot.

Winner

Players drop out one by one until only one remains – The Shooting King.

The winner sets the next Shooting Spot and controls the start of the next round.
